Coming soon to the "Corner"....

I am so excited to announce that starting in October, you will see a new posting format.  And this is partially due to all my stamping friends that played in my 3 Round contest this month, and I thank you all again for playing.  This has really helped me to get organized and really appreciate your interest and comments.  So here it is, what you have all been waiting for, the new format!...

SUNDAYS will now be know as "Sunday Stamper Skills Showcase."  Each Sunday I will feature the work of one of my stamping friends.  Warning, warning, warning...get ready...I will be contact you!

MONDAYS or shall we now say "Mix It Up Monday" will feature 3-D items, non-card gift items, and altered items.

TUESDAYS will be better know as "Tutorial Tutor Tuesday."  Every Tuesday I will post a tutorial on how to create a certain project which will contain step-by-step instructions and illustrations, and of course the finished project.

WEDNESDAYS will be called "Toys and More."  I will introduce a particular "Toy" or product, point out the features of the product, explain the use of the product, and I guess (wink) I should probably show a picture or two of the product and a project that was made using the product.

 THURSDAYS shall be "Tempting Techniques."  I will show a different technique, one that is new to you (and maybe me too) or maybe an oldie but goodie that you have not done in a while.  I hope you will be "tempted" to try something new.

FRIDAYS (WOOHOO!!!) will be "Frenzied Friday."  I think many of us look forward to Fridays, and I hope this will excite you even more!  This will be the day that is full of challenges.  As well as in life, there will be different challenges along the way.  The challenge could be anything from color combinations, to techniques, to inspirations, to timed creations.  So come get challenged.

SATURDAYS are going to be "Silly Saturday" and "Fun with Scrappin'."  This will be our "anything goes" day.  Saturdays will be the day that I post about scrapbooks, such as layouts, pictures, and color combinations.

New Stamping Year Brings New Ideas ~ Contest, Round 3

One of the things that I love about being a demonstrator.

Last month I had a party to introduce the new Fall~Winter 2008 IB&C.  Well, of course I arrived with my samples that I came up with that we would be recreating that day.  Here is my card.

    

After show my sample, I know that the finished cards that everyone else does will be a little different, and that is the part that I really love about being a demonstrator.  My samples get my stamping friends thinking and creating.  After this party, Julia when home and added a little something extra to her card.  I wanted to share what she did.  When she got home she added a little glitter to her card.

 

She also colored in her flower too.  Thank you Julia for sharing your additions.  It is so enjoyable for me to have someone open their own creativity and to see there finished project.  I have a great little group of stampers that like to get together on a regular basis.  This group is not just stampers, it is a group of friends.  We have had a couple of others that have joined in and they welcome new stampers in with open arms.

What better joy is there...getting together with friends and having a good time, and being able to help open the door for someones creativity to unleash.  That is just one of the things I love about being a demonstrator.

New Stamping Year Brings New Ideas - Contest - Round 2

Okay, are you ready to start Round 2?  Again, I would like to congratulate Krista for being our Round 1 winner.  There will be additional rounds to come, which means there are still more chances to win.  This round's winner will receive something handmade from me.  I will post a picture this weekend.  All you have to do is leave a comment (see below for more detailed information).  ANYONE AND EVERYONE! can play, so, if you happen to see Anyone or Everyone (hahaha), tell them to come play.  (This post will remain on top through September 10th, so scroll down to see any new posts.)

New Business Products!

I am so excited...I got some free business products from Vista Print yesterday.  Well, they were not totally free, I did have to pay about $5.50 for shipping.

WOOHOO!  I have a car magnet.  I also got a pen.  I wanted to see what they were like.

     

But best of all...WOOHOO!!!...I got 250 new business cards, and yes, they were FREE!  I now have business cards with my correct address, my correct phone number, my business e-mail address, my blog address, and DBWS address.  I would much prefer to hand these out, my old business cards had layers of labels.  I just went to www.vistaprint.com and had fun picking out and designing my business cards.  The rest was just fun added items.  Again, I say...I only had to pay just over $5 for shipping.

Sympathy Swap with UDI Group. Post 1

I recent participated in a sympathy card swap with some of my UDI Group members and wanted to share the beautiful cards that were made.  All of these cards were made using Stampin' Up! products only. 

The first set of cards were made using the Fresh Cut stamp set.

Karen Flotz made the card on the left.  She also used "Thinking of You" from the Sincere Salutations stamp set.  She used Night of Navy, Ballet Blue, and Very Vanilla card stock. She also used the Night of Navy and Ballet Blue ink.  The accessories used were the Ticket Corner Punch and 1/4" Night of Navy Grosgrain Ribbon.

The card in the middle was made by Krista Rill. In addition to the stamp set, she used a Fresh Cut Note card, and used "With Heartfelt Sympathy" from the Close As a Memory stamp set. She used Always Artichoke card stock and ink, as well as, Mellow Moss card stock and ink.  Accessories used are 1/4" Always Artichoke Grosgrain Ribbon and a Green Circle Ice Brad. 

The card on the right was done by me!  I too used "Thinking of You" from the Sincere Salutations stamp set.  I used Very Vanilla card stock with Perfect Plum and Pale Plum card stock.  I used Perfect Plum ink and Old Olive ink with an the Aqua Painter.  I also used 1/4" Old Olive grosgrain ribbon with a piece of Hodgepodge Hardware that is now retired. 

Three of these cards are made using the Close As a Memory stamp set.  The card on the back-left was done by Maxine Conrad.  She used the new In-Color Baja Breeze card stock and ink, as well as, Chocolate Chip card stock and ink, and whisper white card stock.  She added a bow made using the Baja Breeze 1" Double-stitched grosgrain ribbon.

The back-right card was made by Janice Rosenthal Rock.  She also use one of our new In-Colors Kiwi Kiss card stock and Patterns Designer Series Paper, and very vanilla card stock.  The inks that she used are Always Artichoke and So Saffron.  Accessories that she used or added were the 3/16" Corner Rounder punch, 5/8" Very Vanilla grosgrain ribbon, a jumbo eyelet and Natural Hemp Twine.

The bottom-right cards was done by Kathy Blanco.  She used Whisper White, Apricot Appeal, Old Olive, and Lovely Lilac card stock.  The ink she used was Lovely Lilac, Elegant Eggplant, Old Olive.  The accessories she used were the 3/16" Corner Rounder punch and 1/4" Certainly Celery grosgrain Ribbon.

The card on the bottom-left was done by Brenda Taylor.  She used the Close as a Memory & Embrace Life stamp sets.  The card stock that she used were Basic Gray, Bashful Blue & Natural White, and the Basic Gray ink.  Accessories used were Bashful Blue Marker, Basic Gray Taffeta Ribbon, the Ticket Corner Punch and Crystal Effects.

Sympathy Swap with UDI Group. Post 2

Linda Georgeson's card is the one in back on the left.  She used the Wonderful You & Curvy Verses stamp sets.  She too use the new In-Color Kiwi Kiss with So Saffron, Close to Cocoa, and Very Vanilla card stock.  The ink that she used was Kiwi Kiss and So Saffron.  You can't really set it by she used Dazzling Diamonds Glitter in the center of her flower.     

The card on the back-right was done by Lori Maxson. She also used the Wonderful You stamp set.  She used Pale Plum, Elegant Eggplant, and Brushed Gold card stock.  The ink that she used was Elegant Eggplant.  Accessories used were gold embossing powder for the outline of the flower and 1/4" Elegant Eggplant grosgrain ribbon.

The card in the front was made by Kellie Paxton.  She used the Heartfelt Thanks stamp set.  The card stock she used were Sage Shadow, Naturals White, and Pale Plum.  She used Sage Shadow, Pale Plum, Perfect Plum, Mellow Moss, Certainly Celery, and Staz On Black.  The accessories she used were 1/4" Creamy Caramel gingham ribbon.

The standing card was made by Christine Rebbert.  She used the retired Brighter Tomorrow stamp set.  The card stock that she used was Naturals Ivory, Always Artichoke, Le Jardin designer series paper.  She used Always Artichoke ink.  Accessories that she used were the Ticket Corner Punch, Scallop Edge Punch, Always Artichoke 1/4" grosgrain ribbon and Stampin' Dimensionals.

Last but certainly not least, this card was made by Alicia Tomicich-Wiley, who happened to be the hostess of this swap.  She used God's Blessings stamp set.  The card stock she used was Basic Black,Naturals White, Blue Bayou (retired In-Color).  Accessories that she used were Soft Sky Prints Designer Series Paper (retired), Blue Bayou Double Stitched Ribbon (retired) and the Ticket Corner Punch.
