UDI Diva Inspiration Challenge #134

I can't believe it is Thursday again, has anyone seen last week?...I don't know where it went.  This week is Diva Inspiration Challenge #134.  I first want to thank Maria, UDI Diva Inspiration Challenge Coordinator, for picking out some very awesome pictures.  These pictures are a real inspiration.  I think this picture is beautiful.  Sadly though my creation is a sympathy card for a women I work with (at my day job), her sister passed away this week.  I hope that my friend will find comfort in this card. 

 

 

It took me a little while to figure out what I wanted to create because I has so many different ideas coming to mind.  I ended up with a simply no-layer card for this challenge.  I would love for you to leave me a comment below on what you think of my card.

TGIT...Thank goodness it is Thursday because that means another UDI Diva Inspiration Challenge #133.  I love today's picture. I had so many ideas and had a lot of fun creating my card this week.  I really hope you enjoy my creation.

It is always good to have "thank you" cards on hand, you never know when you want to use one. I need to get a couple of "thank you" cards in the mail this week and used this weeks challenge to create a special one.

It really was a lot of fun creating this card, you will not believe the color combination I used.  I think it came out real cute.  Tell me what you think by leaving a comment below.

Saturday UDI Sketch Challenge 120

It is Saturday and that means another UDI sketch challenge. Look at this fun sketch that Carol picked out for today. 
I needed to make another Valentine's Day card for one of my girls. It was so much fun working with this sketch. I posted 3 pictures of the card for you to see. Oh, and don't miss the little tip that I have for you at the bottom of this post.

Of course this first picture is the front of the card.  The second picture shows that the heart should be pulled up to reveal something underneath. The third picture is the inside of the card.

UDI Inspiration Challenge 132

I have a little story to tell you about my finished card, and a good tip to pass along. I almost did not post this because I was so mad at myself for a couple of different reason (you will have to keep reading to find out why).  But first, here is this weeks picture for the UDI inspiration challenge 132. 

 

 I thought this picture was so cute, but do you think I have any current stamp sets with bunnies?...NO! I really wish I did, but I made do with what I have. Here is my creation for this week. Make sure you read my tips at the end of this post.

Happiness Card

Stamp Sets:  Heard From the Heart, Love You Much

Card Stock: Regal Rose, Pink Pirouette

Ink: Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink

Accessories: Pretty in Pink 5/8" Satin Ribbon, stamp-a-ma-jig, Scallop Trim Border punch, Regal Rose stampin' marker

 

Here is my little story and tips. I got finished stamping my little love birds and added my adhesive to the back and put it on my base card.  I added my ribbon and it looked cute, but it was missing something.  I decided I would add "happiness" above the birds.  I got my stampin' marker, applied my ink, huffed, and stamped. I could not believe it when I lifted my stamp!  You really cannot tell too well from the picture, but in person you can really see the difference. The "happiness" color looks more like Riding Hood Red, not Regal Rose.

I used this stamp set at a class and, guess what, it did not get cleaned very well after it got used. As promised my story comes with a couple of tips...

First, ALWAYS make sure your stamps are clean! You should clean them after each time that you use them. Not only does this clean your stamp, but it also helps it to last longer.  Second, stamp everything first before you start putting it together with adhesive. 9 times out of 10, I stamp everything that i want stamped before I start to glue.

UDI Sketch Challenge

I have decided that I am going to try some of the UDI sketch challenges which occur on Saturday, so remember to stop back by the Corner on Saturdays to see the new sketch challenges. The challenge for today is sketch 119 below.

It was so fun getting back in the stamping room and playing and this challenge made it very easy to create my card because it removed the design factor.  All I had to decide on was what colors I wanted to use and which stamp set(s) to use.  

I challenge you to create a card using this sketch and when you do I will feature your card creation right here on Jill's Stamping Corner.  All you have to do is to send an email (jill@jillsstampingcorner.com) letting me know that you want to take this challenge, and attach a picture of your card in a jpeg format. It would be nice if you could add the recipe for your card (see my recipe below) but not necessary.

We have some very special little girls that I need to make Valentine's Day cards for so I used this sketch to create one of those cards.  Yes, I went a little crazy with the hearts, but what little girl does not go crazy over hearts.

Diva Inspiration Challenge #111

It is time for another Diva Inspiration Challenge, #111.  Here is this weeks inspiration picture.

I have really been in a "Holiday Card" making mood lately, which might be because I had a Holiday Stamp-A-Stack this past weekend and another scheduled for next weekend.  Here is another card that I can add to my Christmas Card box. I was going more for the colors with this card. I hope you enjoy my creation.The base card is Naturals Ivory and layered with Cherry Cobbler and Soft Suede.  The stamp set that I used for this card is the Delightful Decorations set.  The background on the cherry cobler and soft suede was stamped using the same ink as the card stock.  The Ornament Extra Large punch was used for the ornaments.  I added Stampin' Dimensionals on the back of each ornament, and used the wire clips for hooks. I used hemp twine to sting the ornaments, I couldn't have the ornaments just sitting there on the card. Accessories:  Paper Snips, Stampin' Dimensionals, 1-3/8"x5/8" Oval Large Punch, 1-3/4"x7/8" Oval Large Punch, Brayer, Big Shot, Textrz Plates Backgrounds 1 (small dots, Harlequin), Standard texturz Silicone Rubber, Standard Texturz Impressions Pad, Multipurpose Platform.

On the base card I used the Harlequin plate, and on the stamped section of the card I used the Small Dots plate.

Photo Inspiration - Happy Anniversary Card

I have mentioned in the past that a good way to spark your creativity is by taking pictures of everyday items and using the picture to inspire you. I was doing my grocery shopping this weekend and saw an item that I HAD to have.  Can you say YUMMMMMMM?!

 
Okay, let's get to the stamping part.  My mom asked if I could make her a 50th anniversary card.  Well, for some reason this Lindt Dark chocolate bar was the inspiration for the card that I created.  I want to do a card that was a little different for her, a card that would stand out from all the others.  Below is the finished product.

Stamper Showcase

Happy Birthday Daddy!

This time of year around our house is a little busy with birthdays!  Just means I have to make a lot of birthday cards.  Well there are others around our house like Apollo (one of our cats just turned 2) and Zeus (our little old man (dog) just turn 13) This is the card that I made for my dad.  Happy Birthday, Love you Daddy!  The original design came from Lauren and I change mine up a little, so thank you Lauren.
