Fairy Tales ~ Rubber Stamped Princesses ~ Part 3

The Final Chapter...

As for any royal princess ball, would you not expect there to be a prince or two?  Well, at Princess Snow White's there just happened to be 2 fine princes.  Presenting party favors to princes in little princess purses WOULD NOT WORK!  So the Princess Snow White had her Auntie Jill come up with a different idea for the princes.  Auntie Jill enlisted Auntie Lore to help.  And the Aunties worked, and worked, and worked into the wee hours of the morning to create a special little treasure box for each prince.

At the end of the ball, the Princess Snow White presented to each prince a monogrammed box filled with treasures to show her gratitude for them attending the ball.

        

                                                                                                                                                                   

Each prince accepted his treasure box with appreciating and bid the Princess Snow White a fond farewell as they parted to start on their journey back to their own royal palaces.

So the story continues...

The Princess Snow White was so happy that she was going to have many royal friends and family attend her ball.  At the same time, she was concerned...she wanted to thank her family and friends and wanted to give them a little gift to show her appreciation.  "What shall I do" Princess Snow White asked.  The Queen Mom told Snow White not to worry, "I will get Auntie Jill to make something special for you and your guests." 

So Auntie Jill thought, and thought, and thought..."what shall I make special for such sweet little princesses?" !!!...the idea came to her...all little princesses need a little purse, and started to create the purse.  But Auntie Jill knew that she would not be able to make enough for all the little princesses unless she was able to have some help.  So Auntie Jill picked up the phone and dialed...

"Hello" said the voice on the other end of the phone.  Auntie Jill replied..."Hello Auntie Lore, will you be able to help me make a special gift for all of Princess Snow White's guests?"  Auntie Lore, who is the sweetest auntie said..."of course, I would love to help you."

MIX IT UP MONDAY ~ Hugs & Kisses New Catalog Party

Yesterday was my New Catalog Party introducing the Spring~Summer 2009 Idea Book & Catalog.  Normally I will have at least 2 to 3 make and take items, but we only did one...my ladies were chomping at the bit to get their hands on the new catalog, and giving them the catalog was the last thing that I did...big grin.

I wanted to share what we made.  I got this idea from Regional in Orlando earlier this month.  I am sorry that the pictures are not the greatest, my camara has been giving me a little bit of a problem.

We each made a little pillow box.  Did you know that you can put up to 4 Hugs & Kisses in one box?   This is a picture of both the front and the back of the pillow box.  The stamp that we used for the back has the saying of hugs & kisses, so I HAD to have some HUGS & KISSES for everyone to put in their box.

MIX IT UP MONDAY ~ A Cardinal Christmas

I would like to introduce you to another UDI Sister, Carol Marbach.  Carol is sharing a gift that she made for her mom, (but shhhhhh, don't tell her mom about it).  Carol's mom loves cardinals...all I can say is WOW!  I hope you enjoy this.  Thank for Carol for sharing.  What a nice job.

Carol got this idea after seeing a tutorial by Amy Celona and had to do one for her mother.

Carol says..."you stamp the cardinal on (riding hood red) card stock and then modge podge it to two other layers.  If the image needs "bending" you do it while still soft then cut it out.  I had difficulty with the cutting because of the "wet" cs, it kind chewed up my cs.  Some of my branches were weak, so I had to tweak it a bit and add more layers to the back.  I also added the snowflakes for fun and decided on a magnet instead of a pin.

You cut an extra layer of the head and wing as well.  The head was stamped on white cs and colored with markers in more mustard and ruby red.  You use dimensionals to build the layers.  If you pop overto Amy's post you will see how incredibly beautiful her cardinal is and how each person's individual interpretation can make it their own.  Please reference Amy's tutorial if you decide to make one."

"I had a metal cd case and decorated it for the gift box using bella rose dsp and textured pirouette pink card stock."

"I also made two quick cards with the big shot scallop circle so thetin wouldn't be empty when she put her magnet on the refrig.  I love these scallop cards."

TUTORIAL TUTER TUESDAY - Triangle Box by Beate Johns

I came across this tutorial the other day that was created by Beate Johns.  Let me tell you, Beate does awesome work.  This box is so cute. 

Triangle Box

by Beate Johns

Create a triangle shaped box out of a cardstock rectangle.

Supplies

• 5" x 10" piece of Cardstock
  
• Scoring Tool
  
• Scor-Tape™ or other strong adhesive
  
• Crop-a-Dile™ or other hole punch
  
• Stamps
  
• Ink
  
• Ribbon
  
• Pencil
  
• Additional cardstock and embellishments

Step-by-Step

1. Step 1

   Stamp your cardstock.

   

2. Step 2

   Turn your cardstock around.
   Mark the middle of both short sides of the cardstock with a pencil.

   

3. Step 3

   Scoreyour cardstock at 5" on the long side.

   

4. Step 4

   Line up the mark you made on one of the short sides with the middle of long side.
   
   Score to create a diagonal fold.

   

5. Step 5

   Line up the mark with the other side of the middle fold and score.
   
   You will now have a triangle of scored lines.

   

6. Step 6

   Repeat step four and five on the other side of the cardstock.

   

7. Step 7

   Prefold all your score lines.

   

8. Step 8 (Optional)

   Add strong adhesive to the edge of one of the long sides.

   

9. Step 9

   Assemble the box by bringing the two ends together and securing with the adhesive just applied.

   

10. Step 10

    Use a Crop-a-Dile™ to punch through the taped sides.

    

11. Bring both of the opposite sides together and punch a hole through them as well.

    

12. Step 11

    Fill your box.

    

13. Step 12

    Thread your ribbon through the punched holes. It will keep your box closed.

    

14. Step 13

    Tie ribbon and decorate your box front.

    

Variations

1. Change the size
   You can make this box in a lot of different sizes. Just keep the length of your cardstock two times the width (e.g.: 3" x 6", 4" x 8" and so on).
   The picture here shows a box made out of a 2 1/2" x 5" piece of cardstock. It holds one Dove chocolate piece.

MIX IT UP MONDAY ~ Look! It is snowing in Southwest Georgia.

Okay, so maybe it is not REAL snow, but we can always pretend.  

I am going to take this to work with me and put it on my desk, which also means that I will be take some snow flurries to Florida. 

I got a little glass vase and a little bag of blue stones to hold my skinny craft sticks.  To make my snow flakes, I use the crop-a-dile to punch a hole in the end of the stick and used the Circle Ice Rhinestone Brad to attached the snow flakes (Little Felt Flurries, Item 113697) which are current available in the Holiday Mini Catalog.

So don't let anyone ever tell you that it does not snow in Georgia or Florida.

MIX IT UP MONDAY ~ In the Beginning

I was thinking, and thinking, and thinking about what I could post today and was having a hard time coming up with this post, until I placed my water glass down on my coaster.  DUH!  Heeheehee, you will get a kick out of this.  I made this coaster ever before I became a demonstrator.  It has held up pretty good considering that it was never sealed.  I will have to make a new one to show that there has been a little improvement in what I do.  On the back of the tile I put cork board to protect what I placed the coaster on.  Well, here it is...one of my first stamping projects. Don't laugh too hard. LOL

 

I also found a project that I did at the first stamp camp that I attended.  By the way, I had no interest in stamping at this time...I was helping a friend (my former upline) and little did I know that I would be bit by the stamping bug BIG TIME!  This project too was not sealed, but also is holding up. 

Something like this is a nice gift idea for those hard to buy for people.

Mix it up Monday ~ Goodie Box

I know, I am a day behind in posting.  Don't you just love the world of technology.  We are so dependent on computers, that it can stop us in our tracks when they are not working.  Anyway, I made little goodie boxes for everyone that come to Terri's workshop on Saturday to say "thank you".  Speaking of saying "Thank You" a special thank you goes to Lauren for sending me a picture of the goodie box, because I forgot to take a picture.  THANK YOU Lauren!  Big Hugs to you.

I wanted to give a little something and since we are getting close to Halloween, Candy Corn came to mind.  So I made a little box using Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper cut to 6" x 6" and scored at 2" on each side.  I punched a hole in each corner and tied a knot using twine.  Something like this would be a good idea for party favors at many different types of events, such as birthday parties, baby showers, and holiday parties just to name a few.

Back to stamping. Woohoo!

Okay, I know that I have been a little behind on my stamping business, but I am BACK!  I wanted to share some pictures of what I was dealing with last weekend with TS Fay, and clean up this weekend.  I took this standing on our front porch.

This is from the front porch looking down the front of the house.  The stamping room is the first room right behind this wall.  There is actually a driveway and a ditch between us and our neighbors.  I don't have a picture of it but our old pool ladder floated out of our back yard over by our neighbors cars (the 2 that you can see in the background).

 No we do not live on or by a lake.  This is our back yard.  The water did come up on the deck but did not get in the house.

 

Our shed sit on blocks about a foot off the ground.  The shed did get about 2-1/2 feet of water.  I sure can deal with that and no water in the house.  However, with the water creeping up to the door, I was busy inside moving everything off the floor in the stamping room.

Clean up time!  So, after spending most of the morning cleaning and re-organizing the stamping room...woohoo...I have a clean and organized room again!  I have a place where I can actually do some stampin'!  Now that I have a clean spot to stamp, I got some play time in today.  This is one of the things that I made today. 

Our guest bathroom is blue and green, and I have wanted to make something to put in there, so this is what I made today.

"Happy Mail" Day

 Woohoo!  I love "Happy Mail".  I stopped by the post office yesterday and had a box from my stamping sister Elizabeth. Thank you Elizabeth, you have been a great stamping sister.  I was so excited to get it.  Look and see what I got!

     She got me the Stampin' Up! Celebrate Everything stamp set.  This will be SO fun to use.  Hum, I am already thinking of some card designs.

Look at this cute Butterfly Suspension card.  Elizabeth used the Garden Whimsy stamp set.  I got some close up pictures to get a better look.  I love the glitter butterfly.

On one side is a snail, but if you flip it around...

 ...there is a ladybug.  Now is that cute or what!

Now check this altered picture frame out!  WOW!  This just shows you can add a personal touch to anything.  Wouldn't this be a great gift to make and give to someone.

An Idea for Home Wine and Beer Makers, and of course...stampers

My husband and I have recently started to make our own wine and he makes his own beer.  Why am I posting about wine and beer?  Well, we had a friend come to our house to help with a project and as a "thank you" to him my husband wanted to give him a bottle of our wine, and he asked me if I could do some kind of a label for the bottle.  This is what I came up with, and I decided to do labels for our remaining bottles.

I used 4x2 mailing labels to do the actual label, but did use Stampin' Up!Taken with Teal card stock and ink.  I used the little wine, cheese and grape stamp from the Voilà stamp set.

When I was making the labels, to help the label fit the bottle better, I curled the card stock after I put the label on.  I placed the label at the edge of my table and pulled it down and toward me to make the card stock curl. I did this process a couple of times.  After curling it I applied my adhesive and put the label on the bottle.

Well, since we were giving the bottle as a thank you gift, I had to make a little thank you tag.  Since I was making tags, I thought I would make one for my dad for Father's Day, and make an extra Thank You tag.  Yes, I am one of those girls that calls her father...Daddy.

For the tag I still used Taken with Teal card stock and ink.  I use the retired Stampin' Up! Designer Label, Terrific Tags, and Euphoria Alphabet & Numbers stamp sets.  On my tag punch tag I wanted to add a little color by using a flower from the Accents & Elements with a silver brad.  I cut a piece of the 3/8" Twill Tape (big enough to slid over the neck of the bottle), used the 1/16" circle hand held punch and used a brad to hold it together and used the snail adhesive to put the tag on the tape.  I hope this will give you ideas for other things that you could put labels on.

Teacher Gift Idea - Post-It-Notes

I was speaking with my cousin Crissie early this week and she was asking me about ideas that her daughter Ashley could give to her teachers as gifts.  Well, they live about 7 hours away from me which would make it a little difficult to get together to work on this project.  So, Crissie sent me a picture of Ashley's school colors, and I got busy stamping and creating.

What better colors to work with.  For these post-it-note holders I used Real Red, Brilliant Blue and Whisper White.

I really had fun working on this project for Crissie and Ashley, and we are working on a date this summer to get together so both Crissie and Ashley can have some hands-on play time.

The stamp sets that I used are retired sets:  Canvas background, Stars & Swirls, and Star Studded Stampin' Around.  Let's see, what other fun things did I use?  I used some Real Red Prints Pack Designer Serise Paper that is a Level 1 Hostess gift.  I also used the star shapes from the On Board Simon Upper. Other accessories were Chunky Blue Glitter and Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, Bold Brights Brilliant Blue and Real Red Brads, and Red Rhinestone Brads.
